Expert Care for Upper Extremity Problems

Your shoulders are the most mobile joints in your body, but all that mobility comes with a price. Your shoulders are prone to injury, with or without participation in competitive sports, from overuse, hyperextension and trauma. Though far less mobile than your shoulders, your elbows are also susceptible to overuse injuries and trauma.

Football, baseball, basketball and volleyball are among the most common sports where we see shoulder and elbow injuries. Shoulder injuries and conditions include rotator cuff tears, impingement syndrome, dislocations, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) and a variety of muscle and ligament injuries. Elbow problems include tennis and golfer’s elbow, biceps tendon tears, dislocations, fractures, arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis and cubital tunnel syndrome, which pinches the ulnar nerve on the inner elbow. Some athletes experience ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries, as well.

Dr. Clark focuses first on conservative treatment for shoulder and elbow problems. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications, rest and ultrasound treatment may provide relief from mild shoulder and elbow problems, and physical therapy is effective for all but the most serious conditions. If surgery becomes necessary, you will be in great hands with Dr. Craig Clark. He’s been fixing shoulder and elbow problems for athletes and active people for over 18 years.

Patient Reviews

Dr. Clark introduces himself, shakes your hand, spends time with you, listens to you and patiently explains what you don't understand until you do understand. I was taken for an X-Ray and he came back to watch the process and to give specific instructions to the X-Ray technician. He patiently answered all of my questions and I absolutely trust his judgement. Thank you Dr. Clark. You are one in a million!
